Banco Santander Colombia, the local subsidiary of the Spanish financial institution with 245,000 individual and business clients, has completed its first sustainable bond issuance in the local capital market, for an amount in local currency equivalent to approximately 90 million dollars.

The proceeds will be used to finance projects with a tangible impact, such as sustainable mobility, financial inclusion, energy transition, and business growth with an environmental and social focus, contributing to a greener and more competitive economy.

The transaction was oversubscribed by 2.8 times the awarded amount in 2- and 4-year term tranches, and was structured under the Green, Social, and Sustainable Bond Principles of the International Capital Market Association (ICMA) and the Colombian Green Taxonomy.
