CABEI strengthens sustainable forest management in Honduras

29 Sep 2025

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) has completed a nearly half million disbursement, to be channeled through the Covelo Foundation, for the installation of a grid-connected photovoltaic solar system in a beneficiary MSME firm in the sustainable forestry sector.

This is the first disbursement of the CAMBio II program in Honduras. CAMBio II is a regional initiative, established by CABEI in partnership with the Green Climate Fund (GCF), which seeks to support micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in their transition to sustainable production models through access to green credit and non-reimbursable technical assistance. It includes interventions in strategic sectors such as sustainable energy, agribusiness, sustainable tourism, forest management, and responsible fishing, promoting environmental resilience and economic development in member countries.
