IDB Invest launches the regional “Enlaces” network to promote sustainable finance in Latin America and the Caribbean
IDB Invest has launched “Enlaces”, a regional dialogue network of initiatives that promote sustainable finance in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). The “Enlaces” network, which includes the participation of public and private commercial banks and financial institutions, aims to join forces, create synergies and promote sustainable finance across the region.
The launch took place during the Second Latin American Congress on Sustainable and Inclusive Banking, held on 26 and 27 August 2024 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The “enlaces” network aims to create a space for collaboration among the region’s financial actors, enabling the sharing of experiences and best practices, facilitating access to knowledge and training, promoting actions that incorporate environmental, social and governance criteria within financial institutions, boosting the mobilisation of impact finance, as well as positioning the region within the global context of sustainable finance.
The “enlaces” network comprises various initiatives, including private and public-private working groups, green and sustainable finance protocols, innovation labs and sustainability committees. To date, 12 initiatives have joined, representing around 200 financial institutions from different countries.
