Sustainable Taxonomy of Mexico
The Government of Mexico, through the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) has presented the “Sustainable Taxonomy of Mexico”, a public financial policy tool that aims to encourage investment in economic activities that reduce social gaps and protect the environment in the country.
It is the first taxonomy in the world to consider social objectives in its design, defining gender equality as a priority objective. The national framework has 124 activities distributed in six economic sectors (Agriculture, Energy, Manufacturing, Transportation, Construction, Waste management), through which it seeks to meet the objectives of mitigation and adaptation to climate change.
